Yes, you can use your AirPods on a plane. This is because the Federal Aviation Administration suggests you can continue to use short-range Bluetooth devices like wireless keyboards, and our Airpods which also happens to be short-range Bluetooth device.
However, before you can use your AirPods, you need to turn on an Airplane mode on your iPhone. This may seem impossible because turning on an Airplane mode will deactivate all signals or network operations on your device. In order to use Bluetooth while in Airplane mode, follow the steps below.
How to Use AirPods While in Airplane Mode
- At the Control Center of your tap on the Airplane mode icon to turn it on.
- Tap on the Bluetooth icon too to turn it on.
- After you have done that successfully, you will see that, the Airplane mode icon is Orange and the Bluetooth icon too has become Blue. You can also turn on Wifi if you can or have a Wifi connection in the plane.
